Courrier Dunkerque wakes up!
Very light winds, strong currents and lulls: the offshore leg between Calais and Dieppe lasted for a long time. No boat was able to cross the finish line on time (today, before 5.50 pm). The race committee reduced the course, taking the official ranking in Fécamp as the final ranking.
Courrier Dunkerque was the first boat to round Fécamp’s mark at 11.14 am. Daniel Souben’s boat therefore wins this second offshore race. Winner of the Tour de France à la Voile 2008 and 2009, this is the first victory of the team for this 33rd edition.
CSC – HEC – Ecole Navale (student) is second and Ville de Genève – Carrefour Prévention (amateur) third. TPM – COYCH is now leading the temporary ranking thanks to its steady results and a good fifth place today.
14 boats only reached Fécamp’s buoy. Those who couldn’t reach it will be ranked according to Daffodils’s buoy, adding five supplementary points.
Tomorrow, the inshore races will start at 11.00 am – boats will leave the dock at 10.00 am.
